The Belgian artist Maarten Stuer (1965, Yokohama) studied graphical arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and completed his studies in Barcelona before settling in Gascony (Southern France) in 1995.
He specializes in clay sculpture, an
earthy medium that is in perfect keeping
with the primary concern of his art: the ecological
issues that so typify our present
age. The inspiring principle underlying his work is
the idea that everything is interconnected.
